Career Change Explorer

A guided programme covering values, identity, skills mapping, and transition planning for clients considering or navigating a voluntary career change.

What's inside

This collection takes clients through the full arc of career change — not just the practical steps, but the identity, values, and fear work that determines whether a change sticks. Each topic includes a micro lesson, blind spots, journal prompts, a five-day habit builder, and post-practice reflections.

The programme moves through five stages:

Understanding the Pull to Change — What's really driving this? Separating fear from intuition, and escape from pursuit. Helping clients get honest about what's pushing them away and what's pulling them forward.

Values & Identity — Clarifying core values, untangling identity from job title, and defining what meaningful work actually means — personally, not culturally. The section most clients find hardest and most transformative.

Skills & Strengths Audit — Mapping transferable skills, uncovering hidden strengths that others see but you don't, and honestly assessing the gaps.

Exploring Possibilities — Widening the lens beyond the obvious options, reality testing through conversations and experiments, and the portfolio approach to building a new direction.

Building Your Transition Plan — Financial readiness, practical constraints, a phased timeline, and the support and accountability structure that keeps the transition moving.

How to use this collection

As a structured programme, deliver sequentially over ten to twelve weeks — typically one to two topics per week. The natural arc moves clients from understanding their drivers through to a concrete transition plan.

For targeted coaching, each section works independently. Pull just the Values & Identity content for a client who's clear on wanting to change but unclear on what matters, or use just Exploring Possibilities for someone who's narrowed too early.

As session preparation, assign journal prompts before each session so clients arrive having already reflected — session time goes deeper rather than starting from scratch.

Available to registered Coaching Workspace members. You'll be asked to sign in if you're not already.
